The Celje municipality in collaboration with Telekom Slovenije and its partners Imovation and Nomago developed and launched the Centralka mobile app and card.
Centralka improves the system of mobility and thereby the quality of life in Celje, as it combines and digitalises mobility services in the municipality. It allows users to check bus arrivals to their station and purchase tickets for Celebus, borrow a bicycle in the KolesCE city bike system, and also provides an overview of available parking spots, with support for paying parking fees and extending them remotely. Centralka even makes it possible to purchase monthly and yearly parking permits.
Centralka is a modern platform which will provide services to the inhabitants of Celje and those visiting the city, resulting in a higher quality of life, improved sustainability and environment-friendlier living. The Centralka mobile app and card combines and digitalises the previously introduced mobility services in the Celje municipality, ushering an even more urban experience into the city. It supports paying bus fares for Celebus, an overview of bus stations and arrivals to stations (moving icons on lines), borrowing a KolesCE city bicycle and a connection with existing accounts in the nextbike app or creating a new account. Until the end of the year users can expect the KolesCE system to be fully integrated into Centralka. The app also supports paying for parking, extending parking remotely, push notification alerts regarding parking, and purchasing monthly and yearly parking permits.
The simplest way to use Centralka is through the mobile app which can be downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play, and users can register in the app with their Google Account, Apple ID, smsPASS or by simply using their email address. Centralka is also available as a physical card which can be obtained at the main offices of the Celje municipality, at the Nomago point of sale in the Central Bus Station in Celje, at the office of the Tourist information centre and at the traffic offices of the Glazija parking garage. Users of Centralka can also top up their cards at these locations. In-app top-ups are possible using PayPal and bank or credit cards. Centralka also supports a loyalty system. Every registered user is also included in the “Central-loyal” system, bringing them rewards by adding credit to their card, making it possible for users to save money. The app is available in Slovenian and English.
The advanced and comprehensive mobility solution aims to become even bigger in the future, bringing to Celje a service that we are used seeing in big global cities. The solution was implemented by Telekom Slovenije with collaboration from its partners. “We are exceptionally proud that our solution contributed to Celje becoming a smart and wise city. Such a development of cities and towns of all sizes significantly contributes towards sustainable mobility and the development of a digitalised and sustainable Slovenia,” commented Primož Kučič, Sales Director B2B at Telekom Slovenije at the launch.
