More than 110,000 Slovenian using VALÚ smart wallet

3. 6. 2022

It has been only three years since Telekom Slovenije launched the VALÚ smart wallet, strengthening its position in the financial services market. Since then VALÚ mobile wallet services have been used by more than 110,000 Slovenian, who performed over 2 million transactions in the past year, while the number of users grows by a third every year.

VALÚ supports mobile payments at more than 3500 points of sale, including quick online payments, at vending machines and physical points of sale, and the most popular features of the VALÚ smart wallet include sending and receiving money, the option of splitting the bill at a restaurant or a bar, or getting cash from an ATM. Users can also opt for the prepaid VALÚ Mastercard debit card, which can be used for payments at home and abroad.

The share of Slovenians who paid with their mobile phone at least once has grown significantly over the past year, and is now at 48% of the population. Mobile phone is an increasingly frequent payment method for online purchases, as it is simple to use, and often more secure than online payments using credit cards. VALÚ comes with a monthly cap of up to EUR 3,000, and an annual cap of up to EUR 15,000.

Promotion for VALÚ third birthday: Spread the word!
For VALÚ third birthday, Telekom Slovenije prepared the promotion Spread the word. Users who upgrade their VALÚ profile by 30 June 2022 and use the Spread the word button to invite a friend to use VALÚ, will receive EUR 10 to their account.

How to top up the VALÚ mobile wallet?
The simplest method of topping up is automatic VALÚ Moneta topping up, which supports deferred payments, as the user settles their spending with the operator’s monthly invoice (VALÚ Moneta is available to users of Telekom Slovenije, A1 and Bob). Users can also top up their account in the mobile app from their bank account, payment card, with cash at Telekom Slovenije’s Sales Centre or by a simple transfer between users. It is not even required to be a subscriber to mobile services, and for example, parents can top up their child’s VALÚ credit by simply transferring funds from their mobile phone – it only takes a few moments, and there are no fees.

Users have a simple overview of their use, the option to change their cap, take advantage of special discounts from select partners, and with the latest update the app is also even more user friendly.
